Pubic hair removal with instructions

Introduction

Pubic hair removal is the removal of hair in the genital area, which is a common method especially before operations but also in everyday life. The advantage of pubic hair removal is that during an operation the surgeon has direct access without hair in the way, which poses a higher risk of infection and also blocks the view. Therefore, before an operation in the genital area, the removal of pubic hair is obligatory.

From the private side, a pubic hair removal is a matter of taste. The advantage of a pubic hair removal is on the one hand that no germs can get caught in the hair due to the smooth surface and therefore washing of the genital area is much easier. Nevertheless, it should be said that the hair also has a certain protective function and should prevent bacteria and other germs from entering the intimate area.

Here you can find detailed information on the topic: DepilationTo perform a pubic hair removal there are not exact instructions, rather there are different possibilities and techniques of pubic hair removal. First of all, the most common method of pubic hair removal will be introduced, this is the so-called wet shave. With the wet shave, a razor is used, which should adapt as well as possible to the contours of the intimate area, since this is a highly sensitive area, which requires a well adapted shave.

First, the area to be shaved must be rubbed with shaving gel or shaving foam. Depending on your skin type, you can use different types of shaving gel or foam, but it is recommended to use a shaving foam without additives, i.e. without perfume or alcohol, as these only unnecessarily irritate the intimate area. For the removal of pubic hair there are usually special shaving foams, which are then applied to the genital area either with a sponge or by hand.

Since it is a wet shave, you should have washed the area with water beforehand. Again, we recommend either washing with a fragrance-free Sensitive Wash Gel or simply washing the genital area with water, which is actually more hygienic, since it does not destroy the flora of the genital area. The shaving foam is applied to wet skin during wet shaving.

Now you can use the razor to shave the hair carefully and without too much pressure in the direction of growth. Especially for the first removal of pubic hair you should follow the instructions and shave only in the direction of growth. If you have already shaved the genital area several times, you can also shave slightly against the direction of growth, depending on the hair structure.

It is always important to pay attention to possible reactions of the skin. If it starts to bleed, either you have pressed the razor too hard on the skin or you have not made the hair supple enough before. As already mentioned, there is not the one instruction for pubic hair removal.

There are patients who prefer a complete shave of the genital area, but you can also leave out certain areas or shave only the sides. How to proceed is up to you. When shaving wet, it is important to remove the remaining lather with lukewarm water and then carefully dry the shaved genital area and then apply a soothing after-shave balm.

Afterwards, one should not wear clothes that rub too much on the area of the pubic hair removal, it is therefore recommended to perform the removal of the pubic hair in the evening if possible, because afterwards one goes to sleep and the skin is not unnecessarily irritated. Other possibilities for the removal of pubic hair in women are epilation or dewaxing. Both techniques remove the hair for a longer period of time, usually up to 3 weeks, because the hair is torn out at the root.

However, this also leads to greater pain during removal. For epilation one uses a commercial epilator. Before that you should try to let the hairs grow for 3 days if possible so that the epilator can grasp the pubic hairs.

Many patients find it more comfortable if they have previously washed the genital area including the pubic hair and then showered with ice-cold water. Afterwards the genital area must be completely dried. Only now can the patient start epilating, whereby it is advisable to choose the lowest possible speed level and not to proceed too hectically.

After the removal of pubic hair by means of epilation, the genital area can be washed gently once again to remove all hairs that may still be loose on top and then creamed with a soothing after-shave balm.Again, if possible, the removal of pubic hair should be performed in the evening if the patient does not wear rubbing clothes afterwards. It is important to distinguish between depilation, which you can do at home, and electro-epilation. Electroepilation is a removal of pubic hair which is only performed by dermatologists or cosmeticians.

Here, too, the pubic hair is removed by means of an epilator, except that the additional electrical function destroys the hair root in such a way that no more hair can grow back. Laser technology works similarly. Also with this type of pubic hair removal, the hair root is permanently destroyed, so that no more hairs can grow back and the patient does not have to carry out a pubic hair removal afterwards.

A not quite as tedious method, but still very effective is the removal of pubic hair by means of dewaxing. Theoretically, this can also be done by the patient at home, but better results can be achieved if you go to a beautician and she performs the removal of pubic hair with professional guidance. However, you can also buy so-called dewaxing strips yourself, whereby a distinction is made between cold wax strips and warm wax strips.

Cold wax strips are simply put on the dry skin, warm wax strips must first be heated so that the wax becomes soft and adapts better to the skin. The latter is definitely more effective, but also requires more time and a certain skill. When removing pubic hair with wax, the skin should be as dry as possible and the pubic hair should not have been shaved or shortened for about 3-4 days in order to have an optimal length.

Now the wax strips are placed on the intimate area and spread out smoothly on the skin, so that the hairs stick well in the wax. Then the strip is removed as quickly and jerkily as possible against the direction of growth. In order to minimize the pain, you can immediately afterwards put your flat hand firmly on the area that has just been dewaxed.

The pain is slightly relieved by the pressure. Since most patients cannot remove the wax strip themselves as jerkily as it would be necessary, it is better to have this method of depilation done by a cosmetician. In general, waxing should also be done in the evening if possible and the skin should be treated with a soothing oil cloth (usually included in the depilatory cream packs) afterwards.

A last method is probably the simplest but sometimes also the most harmful variant. This is the removal of pubic hair with depilatory cream. For this purpose, the depilatory cream is applied to damp or dry skin (depending on the pack and manufacturer) and then the cream must be left on for about 5 minutes.

Due to different ingredients in the cream the hair structure is attacked and the hair simply falls off. After 5 minutes, you then use a kind of spatula over the skin and can thus remove the hair. This type of pubic hair removal is certainly very easy and definitely the least painful, but the ingredients in the cream are nevertheless harmful to the sensitive skin in the intimate area in the long term and should therefore not be used permanently, as they can also lead to allergic reactions and can sometimes change the flora of the vagina, which in turn can cause fungal infections and the like.
