Pull Ointment

Almost every person has to fight with annoying pimples in the course of his life. For more than 100 years, people have sworn by the effect of the pulling ointment. The pulling ointment is a skin remedy (dermatics).

It has an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antimycotic (against fungi), blood circulation-promoting and pain-relieving effect. Inflammatory skin diseases such as boils, acne and abscesses are treated with pulling ointment. Its application is intended to accelerate the maturing and draining of an abscess.

An abscess is usually caused by bacteria or an infection. When an abscess develops, there is almost always an inflammatory reaction accompanied by warming, redness and swelling of the affected area. The use of a pulling ointment is intended to relieve the symptoms and accelerate the removal of the focus of inflammation.

Ingredients

There are different manufacturers of pull ointment, which also attach importance to a different composition. One of these preparations is Ichtholan or Ilon® Classic. Ichtholan is available in 10%, 20% and 50% versions.

The effect of Ichtholan is based on the active ingredient Ichthammolum. Ichthammolum belongs to the group of drugs known as ammonium bituminosulfonates, which in turn are anti-inflammatory drugs. Anti-inflammatory drugs are drugs that have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Oil shales are sedimentary rocks that contain a precursor of crude oil. Ammonium bituminosulfonate is produced from oil shale by sulfonation and neutralization of certain substances. The ingredient of the ointment has a reducing effect on the skin and has an antibacterial effect on sebaceous gland secretion.

Ichtholan 10% is used especially for facial skin. Here it is used for pimples in the area of cheeks, forehead, eyelids and corners of the mouth. Ichtholan 20% is suitable for inflammations in deeper areas.

This includes abscesses, sweat gland inflammation and nail bed inflammation. In contrast, Ichtholan 50% is used for the maturation of furuncles. Pulling ointment can also be used to apply a bandage for 3-5 days.

Here it serves to relieve inflammation of joints or tendon sheath inflammation. It can also be used for sports injuries such as compressions, contusions or bruises. Here, a permanent bandage with pulling ointment promotes the regression of joint effusions, the improvement of joint mobility and pain relief.

In addition to Ichtholan, Leucen is also available as a common pulling ointment. In addition to Ichthammolum, the active ingredients of Leucen are Aluminii acetatis tartratis solutio, Balsamum peruvianum, Benzalkonii chloridum, Bismuthi subgallas, Morrhuae oleum, Macrogoli 9 aether laurilicus, Pini resina, Dextrocamphora, Zinci oxidum. Leucene is mainly used for minor skin injuries such as boils, abscesses, acne and other wound ulcers.

The mode of action of Leucene is based on activating the blood circulation in the area of application and at the same time softening the uppermost layer of the skin. The softening of the uppermost skin layer leads to the fact that the pus can escape more easily and the inflammatory reaction heals better and faster. Zugsalbe is an ointment for the external application of skin diseases.

It is important to treat both leukemia and ichtoholan until the inflammation has subsided. Leucen and Ichtholan® 10% are applied thinly to the affected skin area, if possible with a small spatula. The coated area can be covered with absorbent cotton or a gauze bandage.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, this is done once a day. Ichtholan® 20% and 50% are applied thickly to the affected area. Then seal this area with a plaster airtight over a large area.

You can also protect the patch with a gauze bandage. This wound treatment should be renewed and changed after 3 days at the latest. After each dressing change, care should be taken to ensure that old ointment residues are completely removed.

This can be done using soap and water. In general, care should be taken to ensure that the affected skin area is cleaned before applying traction ointment. Contaminated areas can pose a potential risk of transmitting the inflammation by means of smear infection. To ensure safe application, it is important to ensure that surrounding skin tissue is disinfected. If possible, the dressing should not slip, should be well-covered and sealed airtight.Disinfectant sprays can be used to disinfect the wound, and it can also be useful to bathe with disinfectant additives.
