What are the symptoms in early stages?
Uterine cancer is difficult to detect in its early stages, as it usually does not cause any symptoms then. For this very reason, it is advisable to pay attention to the smallest abnormalities. The first sign of uterine cancer is usually unusual bleeding from the vagina. Especially if this occurs outside of menstruation or after menopause, do not hesitate to consult a doctor.
Also, if you observe unusually long bleeding, it is advisable to talk to your gynecologist.
Sometimes there is additional spotting or purulent discharge. Labor-like pain in the lower abdomen are also possible symptoms. Uterine cancer sometimes also causes pain in the pelvic area or in the back.
Weight loss and loss of appetite are other uterine cancer symptoms that occur in the early stages of cancer.
What symptoms occur in the advanced stage?
Uterine cancer sometimes spreads to the urinary bladder. Bleeding from the bladder and irregularities in urination are indicative of this. In addition, affected women often develop urinary tract infections as a result. This is accompanied by blood in the urine (hematuria) and back pain.
All of the above symptoms do not necessarily have to turn out to be symptoms of uterine cancer – sometimes they have other causes. Early clarification by a doctor is therefore advisable.
