Therapy of a rash on the face
The therapy of an allergy-related rash consists first of all in avoiding the allergenic substances. The problem is that the exact trigger is often not known, or that contact with it cannot be prevented (pollen, for example, is in the air and cannot be stopped). In the case of contact allergies that trigger a rash on the face, glucocorticoids are often used for immunosuppression.
(Of course, nickel allergies or similar easily avoidable substances do not have to be treated in this way, in this case it is sufficient to leave out the earrings. The situation is different for allergies to sunlight, for example, which then causes a skin rash on the face). Also creams or ointments to strengthen the skin barrier are often used.
This is to prevent allergens from being absorbed too easily through the skin and then damaging the body.In certain cases, irradiation with UV light can also help to heal the rash on the face (this method does not, of course, work in case of an allergic reaction to sunlight!) At the moment, UV therapy is not yet part of the standard repertoire of conventional medicine and is therefore not used in many cases. A rash on the face caused by an allergy is therefore relatively easy to treat and usually not dangerous.
TherapyTreatment
Skin rash on the face is not dangerous in most cases and heals by itself after a while. Nevertheless, there is a risk that unsightly scars may appear. This is very stressful for those affected, especially because it affects the face.
Furthermore, the rash on the face can be accompanied by severe itching and burning. It is therefore recommended to eliminate the cause as quickly as possible and to treat the rash specifically. In many cases, a therapy with soothing, antibacterial skin creams and/or ointments is possible.
These creams and ointments reduce the rash and suppress the itching. In numerous studies, preparations containing cortisone have proven to be particularly suitable, but plant-based active ingredients can also have an impressive effect. If a bacterial pathogen is the cause of the appearance of the rash on the face, antibiotics, especially penicillins, can be used for treatment.
In the case of viral infectious diseases that lead to the development of a rash on the face (for example, measles), the therapy is somewhat more difficult. In these cases, the main aim is to alleviate the symptoms and relieve the patient from itching. Creams and ointments can also be used here.
Many affected persons also report that careful cooling (cryotherapy) helps to alleviate the symptoms. In the case of allergy-related skin rashes on the face, the triggering substance must be avoided in the first instance. In addition, ointments which strengthen the barrier function of the skin surface can be used.
Various substances can be used as household remedies against a facial rash. However, it should always be household remedies that have a soothing and gentle effect on the skin and do not further irritate it. In addition, possible allergies or intolerances should be taken into account when using household remedies.
If, for example, an acute worsening or hypersensitivity reaction occurs after use, medical help should be sought, as a medication may be necessary in such a situation. As a general rule, in the case of a rash on the face, care should be taken to keep the skin clean, but only ph-neutral soaps should be used and creams or other lotions containing perfume or alcohol should be avoided, as they additionally dry out the skin. At first, an attempt can be made to alleviate the symptoms by cooling the rash.
Towels or compresses can be soaked in cold water and then wrung out and placed on the irritated area of skin. They should be moist but not completely wet. Aloe vera is considered a proven household remedy, as it has a calming and cooling effect on the skin.
It also has both an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect. It is best applied as Aloe Vera gel to the affected skin area. Another helpful household remedy can be healing earth.
This should be thickened with water on a cloth, which is placed on the rash and left to work overnight. To absorb excess moisture, a dry towel should be placed over the rash. In addition, a tea made from pansy herb can help to alleviate the symptoms.
The herb can be bought in the pharmacy and after the prepared tea has cooled down, the rash on the face can be dabbed with it several times a day. In order to prevent and avoid such rashes on the face, on the one hand, of course, the avoidance of the allergen can be considered if it is an allergic rash. It should be noted that often substances contained in cosmetics can also cause allergies and allergic rashes. Furthermore, household remedies such as milk, highly fatty oils and honey seem to have a gentle effect on the skin and should help to prevent rashes.
