What is the process of educational counselling?

Within a counseling session, parents can be given information on the development of children and adolescents.
Parents also have the option to get more information about education in general and to ask specific questions about education. This provides parents with a safe and reflective approach to their children. In addition, solution strategies for concrete problems can be developed with the whole family and the counselor. It is also possible for the counseling center to contact other people, such as teachers. Since the counselor is subject to confidentiality, this can only be done upon request and with a written declaration of consent.
Who bears the costs of educational counselling?
Educational counseling is free of charge for all people who wish to take advantage of it. There are also no costs for the health insurance companies, as it is financed by public funds and grants from welfare organizations.The public funds come from the responsible local authority and, if necessary, from state subsidies and are distributed through the Youth Welfare Office.
