Hair Loss (Alopecia): Surgical Therapy

The following types of hair loss can be treated by hair transplantation.

  • Hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia).
  • Hair loss due to radiation damage, e.g., after tumor irradiation – the prerequisite is that the radiation therapy has ended.
  • Circular hair loss (alopecia areata) – Prerequisite is that after one year of conventional therapy no successes have occurred.
  • Hair loss due to accidents or surgical scars
  • “Congenital” receding hairline or high forehead (high hairline).

Diffuse hair loss is not eligible for hair transplantation.
