Auditory Canal Inflammation (Otitis Externa): Diagnostic Tests

Obligatory medical device diagnostics.

Otitis externa maligna

  • Computed tomography of the skull (cranial CT, cranial CT or cCT) – to determine the spread of inflammation; or
  • Magnetic resonance imaging of the skull (cranial MRI, cranial MRI or cMRI) – to determine the spread of inflammation.
  • Skeletal scintigraphy (nuclear medicine procedure that can represent functional changes in the skeletal system, in which regionally (locally) pathologically (pathologically) increased or decreased bone remodeling processes are present).

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and mandatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.
