Anti-Aging Measures: Weight Management

Weight management to optimize body weight is one of the important measures to maintain or optimize health. In this context, the therapy of underweight – see eating disorders/malnutrition – is just as important as the treatment of overweight.

The treatment of overweight is presented below.

Losing weight is divided into three phases:

  • Start phase – the body’s carbohydrate stores are emptied and the metabolism is prepared for body fat loss Duration: 2 days.
  • Reduction phase – reduction of excess body fat until the target weight is reached Duration: depending on the body fat weight to be lost or the diet (the fat loss is thereby 0.5 to 1.5 kg per week)
  • Holding phase – the goal of this phase is to maintain the achieved body weight (= target weight). Duration: individual duration

The health check is usually performed every two weeks. The results of the progress examinations are thereby graphically represented, so that the patient can accurately observe that he burns almost exclusively body fat when losing weight up to his desired target weight and his muscle mass thereby preserved. The results of the body composition measurements, etc., are discussed with the patient in regular one-on-one consultations.

The patient thereby receives individual recommendations for:

  • A wholesome, calorie-reduced and balanced diet – if desired, including recipe suggestions.
  • Individual macro- and micronutrient additional requirements (vital substances).
  • His fitness including an individual fitness plan with sports disciplines suitable for you – based on gender, age, height, body weight, pre-existing conditions and health risks.
  • His health care including an individual preventive care and treatment plan.
