Digit 7

Item 7 is used to account for a complete physical examination of at least one organ system. What exactly organ system means is defined more precisely: The number 7 is given a value of 9.33. If the 2.3-fold fee rate is calculated, a fee of 21.46 euros is incurred.

  • The examination of the skin including mucous membranes,
  • The examination of the musculoskeletal system including orienting examination of the joints and spine,
  • The examination of the chest organs including heart and lungs,
  • The examination of the abdominal organs or the female genital tract.

Paragraph 34

Paragraph 34 is used to account for a detailed discussion of the effects of an illness. This must be a disease that was diagnosed immediately beforehand or that has currently deteriorated acutely. The illness must be life-changing or life-threatening.

This clause also covers any discussion of the necessity as well as possible risks and side effects of a surgical intervention in connection with the treatment of the disease. The discussion must last at least 20 minutes according to the medical fee schedule. Among the life-changing illnesses that have a lasting effect are diabetes mellitus, bronchial asthma and rheumatic diseases. For the number 34 an amount of 17,49 euro is appointed. Multiplied with the 2.3-fold fee set a value of 40.23 euro results.

Paragraph 75

A detailed written report is included with paragraph 75. This should be a detailed report with information on the patient’s medical history, the exact findings and the therapy recommendation. Brief certificates of illness or certificates such as a certificate confirming incapacity to work cannot be settled with item 75, but only with item 70.

Detailed written reports may include, for example, a medical certificate confirming that the person concerned has taken out travel cancellation insurance. While a basic fee of 2.33 Euro is charged for the number 70, i.e. the short certificate, a basic fee of 7.58 Euro is charged for the number 75. Multiplied by 2.3 times the rate, the fee is 17.43 euros.
