Atrial Fibrillation: Or something else? Differential Diagnosis

Cardiovascular System (I00-I99).

  • Atrioventricular re-entrant tachycardia (AVRT) – belongs to paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and results in typical seizure-like episodes with tachycardia (heartbeat too fast: >100 beats per minute), dizziness, and possibly signs of acute heart failure (heart failure)
  • Extrasystoles (heart stutter) – heartbeat that occurs outside the physiological heart rhythm.
  • Sinus tachycardia – increased heart rate increased 100 beats per minute, originating from the sinus node.
  • Ventricular tachycardiacardiac arrhythmia with too fast heartbeat, originating from the ventricles.
  • Atrial flutter – cardiac arrhythmia in which the atria of the heart beat irregularly 240 to 340 times per minute at rest, while the ventricles usually beat more slowly
