Camomile tea against pimples
Camomile tea is one of the household remedies that are often recommended for treating pimples, among other things. The anti-inflammatory properties of chamomile can help to soothe damaged skin and accelerate the healing of pimples. The appearance of the skin can improve within hours, as the skin is soothed.
However, the healing of the pimples themselves still takes a few days. There are a number of different ways in which chamomile tea can be used. The tea can be applied directly to the skin or dabbed on with absorbent cotton.
Make sure that the tea is warm or cold but not hot. A recommended method is also to put the additives into a steam bath and expose the affected skin areas to the steam. The steam opens the pores and reduces sebum, while the substances contained in chamomile soothe the skin and inhibit inflammation.
Toothpaste against pimples
Toothpaste is probably the best known household remedy against pimples. The ingredient called sodium dodecyl polysulfate, which is contained in most toothpastes, actually has a positive effect in the treatment of skin impurities. Thus, the sebum on the skin, the cause of most pimples, is dissolved and removed with the help of this ingredient.
It should be noted, however, that toothpaste contains not only sodium dodecyl polysulfate, but also a number of other substances which, although helpful for cleaning teeth, can cause problems when applied to the skin. Especially fluoride, but also the frequently contained menthol and other active substances have a strong irritating effect on the skin. Pimples after a treatment with toothpaste are often redder and the skin is more irritated than before. It is better to buy special products against pimples in the pharmacy. These products also contain sodium dodecyl polysulfate or similar active ingredients, but not the other highly irritating substances found in toothpaste. You can find detailed information under: Toothpaste against pimples
Honey against pimples
Honey can also have a desired effect on the healing of a pimple. Honey is said to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which are desired in the treatment of pimples. It should be noted that a large-area and generous application of honey does not increase the effect of the substances.
It is sufficient to put a little honey on a cotton swab and apply the honey lightly to the affected area and remove it after a maximum of two hours of exposure. Open skin areas should not be treated with honey to avoid infections and inflammation. Honey is often applied in the form of a honey-quark mask.
The quark can also clean and soothe the skin and is therefore very well suited in combination with honey for a mask. In addition to these local possibilities to apply the honey on the skin, a bath with honey as an additive to clean the skin is also suitable. Especially to prevent pimples, a bath with honey in water is helpful. Already with the purchase of the used honey should be paid attention however to the fact that the honey was not heat-treated. With the heat treatment the honey loses its antibacterial characteristics and thus also its advantages in the treatment of pimples.
