Home remedy against pimples

Introduction

There are many different methods to treat pimples. Besides a number of medicinal ointments and remedies, some home remedies are known to be effective against pimples. However, not all home remedies are suitable for use against pimples.

In some cases, the application can do more harm than speed up the healing of the pimple. In order to assess how the various home remedies help with pimples, it is important to understand that pimples are associated with excessive sebum production by the skin glands and infection with bacteria. This sebum production and bacterial colonization must therefore be reduced to prevent the development of pimples.

Other household remedies can dry out pimples that have already appeared. However, it should be noted that both household remedies and remedies purchased in pharmacies can only accelerate the healing of the skin surface slightly and therefore a healing “overnight” cannot be expected. Are you affected by impure skin or particularly oily skin?

Most household remedies are applied directly to the skin. Often certain teas are recommended, which are intended to cleanse the skin and thus remove sebum. To achieve a better effect, the additives can be added to a steam bath.

The steam as well as the tea additives open the pores in the face and the skin is cleansed of excess sebum. Some types of tea also have a disinfecting effect and soothe the affected skin. Camomile tea is therefore particularly suitable.

Probably the best known household remedy against pimples is to apply toothpaste to the pimples. The toothpaste should dry out the pimple and lead to a faster healing. However, since toothpaste contains ingredients that can irritate the skin, it is not recommended to use it.

It is better to use so-called healing earth, which is gentle on the skin and at the same time can absorb the excess sebum. Zinc ointment can also accelerate the healing of the skin. The correct application of zinc ointment is important to avoid additional irritation of the skin. Honey and quark are also popular household remedies for treating pimples on the skin. Anti-inflammatory properties of these foods can actually help to soothe the skin and slightly accelerate healing.
