Costs

The costs incurred during an ultrasound examination of the testicles are usually covered by the health insurance company. However, this only applies if complaints or another reason for performing the examination apply. A preventive examination, which examines the testicle for a tumor, is not yet planned.

The costs for a purely prophylactic examination would therefore have to be paid by the affected persons themselves. To be sure which examinations are covered by the respective health insurance company, it is worth contacting the individual insurer. The attending physician can bill the examination according to the current status of the “Gebührenverordnung für Ärzte (GOÄ)”.

However, the amount of the invoice for the ultrasound examination can vary. It depends on which and how many structures were examined. An examination of the blood circulation in the testicles can also be invoiced additionally.

In general, the cost of an ultrasound examination of the testicles can be between 50 and 150€. The amount of the individual invoice depends on the question at hand.
