Cream against oily skin
The principle for choosing the right cream is: low fat content. With oily creams there is a risk of making the already oily skin look even more oily. In addition, the right cream should have a good UV filter and provide the skin with moisture. The best choice is a skin-soothing, antibacterial cream without alcohol. In any case, the right cream should be supplemented with facial toner and possibly peeling.
More tips on what to do with oily skin
For a pronounced form of oily skin and acne, it may be advisable to use antibiotics or the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide, which inhibits cell growth in the sebaceous glands, treats the cornification disorder and is also effective against bacteria. In addition, women with severe acne still have the option of estrogen therapy. Sometimes UV radiation can also be helpful.
If the oily skin is mainly caused by stress, it often improves by specific relaxation techniques alone, such as autogenic training or progressive muscle relaxation. If the oily skin has been caused by another disease, it is of course important to first concentrate on the specific treatment of the underlying disease. Powder and make-up (but make sure to use it sparingly, otherwise pores can become clogged) do not eliminate the cause of oily skin, but they do make it less shiny and oily.
It should also be avoided at all costs to express blackheads, even if those affected often feel tempted to do so. This is because there is a risk of pushing some of the accumulated bacteria even deeper into the skin, which in the worst case can lead to extensive abscesses (accumulations of pus).
