Structure and properties
Deoxypipradrole (C18H21N, Mr = 251.4 g/mol) is a deoxy derivative of pipradrol. It is structurally related to amphetamine and methylphenidate. Deoxypipradrol was originally developed at Ciba. It exists as a racemate and is also known as diphenylmethylpiperidine (DPMP).
Effects
Deoxypipradrole has psychoactive properties. The effects are due to interaction with neurotransmitter systems.
Abuse
Deoxypipradrol is abused as an intoxicant.
