Further physiotherapeutic measures
In addition to Schroth physiotherapy, mobilization exercises, heat or cold applications should always be used. The thermal stimulus deepens breathing, relaxes tense muscles and trains body awareness. In case of pain or overstrain, the movement bath can facilitate the movements.
Another measure is kinesiotaping, which can be applied to the patient. The tape should stabilize the body part and pull it in one direction. Due to the pulling of the tape, the patient is always reminded of the desired posture and adopts it more consciously. This is a suitable measure, even outside the treatment time. Summary
In summary, the goals of physiotherapy according to Schroth are to improve posture and to direct the deformation of the spinal column towards straightening. In this way, weak muscles are strengthened again and the spine is supported. Through passive and active measures, the shifted parts of the body are brought back into a physiological posture.
The perception of the body is trained and patients should learn to take the targeted correction themselves. Deepened and physiological breathing should be achieved to promote the exchange of oxygen in the lungs.
