Hailstone, Chalazion: Examination

A comprehensive clinical examination is the basis for selecting further diagnostic steps:

  • General physical examination – including blood pressure, pulse, body weight, height; furthermore:
    • Inspection (viewing).
      • Skin and mucous membranes
      • Eyes [circa pea-sized, painless swelling in the area of the eyelid (just below the edge of the eyelid)]
  • Ophthalmological examination [due topossible sequelae: impaired vision].
