The basic principle in the presence of muscle cramps is to relax the muscle and compensate for the lack of nutrients in the muscle. First, the muscle should be relaxed, stretched, massaged and immobilized.
Then the body should be sufficiently rehydrated with water. If available, magnesium and calcium can be added in the form of effervescent tablets. In order to reduce an inflammatory reaction immediately after exercise, the affected muscle can be additionally cooled. In order to promote the recovery reaction in the long term and to relax the muscle, light heat also helps.
