There are no known interactions of Vividrin® eye drops with other drugs. Nevertheless, a physician should be consulted if other eye drops are used in addition. If necessary, a certain time interval should be allowed between applications.

Contraindications – When should Vividrin acute eye drops not be given?

There are not many contraindications for which Vividrin® eye drops should not be used. Only if there is a hypersensitivity to the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate or one of the additives contained in the drug, it must not be used under any circumstances. There is also a relative contraindication in children under the age of five.

In exceptional cases, Vividrin® eye drops may be used in younger children after consultation with the pediatrician. Caution is also advised in cases of impaired kidney or liver function. Severe impairment of one of these organs may also be a contraindication to Vividrin® Eye Drops. Vividrin® Eye Drops should also not be used after the expiration date has passed.

May I use Vividrin eye drops with contact lenses?

In general, wearing contact lenses is not recommended when using Vividrin® eye drops. Especially with soft contact lenses, there is a risk that the preservatives contained in the eye drops are deposited in the lenses and thus lead to irritation of the eye. With hard contact lenses this is not to be feared.

Nevertheless, in case of doubt an ophthalmologist should be consulted. If your optician approves the wearing of contact lenses during treatment with Vividrin® eye drops. However, the lenses should be removed from the eyes before use and reinserted at the earliest 15 minutes later.

Dosage

The dosage of Vividrin® Eye Drops is based on the amount of drops applied to each eye. Adults and children should use the drug four times daily at fixed intervals. One drop per eye is placed in the conjunctival sac.

It is best to do this at the beginning in front of the mirror or have a second person help you. If necessary, the dosage can be increased over the frequency of use to six times a day, one drop per eye. If no more symptoms occur, larger intervals between doses can be tried again. Even if there are no known overdose symptoms, Vividrin® Eye Drops should not be used more than eight times a day and should never be applied more than one drop at a time in one eye.
