Lamisil DermGel
Lamisil DermGel® is particularly suitable for people who do not lose the burning and itching between their toes. The gel has a cooling effect and thus also relieves itching and existing pain. At the same time, it also has the property of a cream by caring for the irritated skin and providing sufficient moisture.
The gel is applied in a thin layer once a day for 7 days between the toes and the surrounding areas. Before that, it is advisable to clean the feet with warm water and a mild soap. After applying the gel, the hands should be well disinfected to prevent transmission of the fungus to other parts of the body. The gel does not grease and is quickly absorbed.
Lamisil Once®
Lamisil Once® is suitable for people who do not want to apply cream or spray every day. Often the treatment is ended too quickly, and the athlete’s foot does not disappear completely. The single application of Lamisil Once® eliminates the possibility of premature discontinuation of athlete’s foot treatment.
It is sufficient to apply Lamisil Once® between the toes and the surrounding areas. This then accumulates in the skin and fights the pathogen causing athlete’s foot for up to 13 days. Lamisil Once® is applied after showering or bathing the feet.
Half of Lamisil Once® should be applied to the foot with the largest lesions. The rest of the contents should also be used to treat the other foot, even if it has no lesions. This is necessary because in 80% of cases both feet are affected by the fungus, even if the symptoms occur on only one foot.
The contents are applied between, under and on all toes. The solution is then applied to the sole of the foot as well as the edge of the foot up to 1.5 cm high. Although not necessarily visible, the fungal infection may have spread to the whole foot, so it is important to spread the contents over the whole foot.Lamisil Once® must be applied evenly to both feet but not massaged in.
Before putting on socks and shoes, wait 1-2 minutes for the medication to be absorbed into the skin. After application, hands should be thoroughly washed and disinfected to prevent further transmission of the fungus to other parts of the body. The contents of the tube should be completely used up with one treatment.
24 hours after the treatment the feet can be washed again. After a few days the symptoms such as itching, burning and pain should be relieved. Lamisil Once® has such a short application period because a barely perceptible film forms after application of the substance, which releases the active ingredient Terbinafine to the underlying skin layer for up to 4 days.
This accumulates in the affected skin, remains for up to 13 days and has a fungicidal effect. Side effects of Lamisil Once® do not occur in most consumers. In very rare cases, allergic reactions occur.
In this case the affected area should be washed with plenty of warm water and soap or medical alcohol should be used. If the skin of the foot appears dry after the treatment, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. When used correctly, Lamisil Once® effectively fights athlete’s foot and prevents re-infection for up to 3 months.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, a doctor should be consulted before using Lamisil Once®. The athlete’s foot is contagious, so that even after the start of treatment, infection of other people is possible. Therefore, in addition to strictly adhering to the application period, it is also important to observe other hygienic rules, e.g. wearing bathing shoes in the swimming pool or avoiding swimming pools altogether. You can also prevent athlete’s foot by ensuring adequate foot hygiene and changing socks, towels and washcloths regularly.
