Therapy recommendations
- Eliminate Candida infection as a possible etiological (“causative”) factor.
- Alternative to surgical therapy: removal of a leukoplakia.
- By systemic therapy with retinoids and beta-carotene (Provitamín A).
- With bleomycin (antibiotic; cytostatic).
- With calcipotriol (anti-inflammatory agent from the group of vitamin D3 derivatives).
The main disadvantages of most of the alternatives to surgical approach are frequent side effects and recurrence after discontinuation of therapy.
