The medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of the limping child.
Family history
- What is the general health of your family members?
- Are there any diseases in your family that are common?
- Are there any hereditary diseases in your family?
Social anamnesis
Current medical history/systemic medical history (somatic and psychological complaints).
- How long has the child been limping?
- Have you observed a trigger?
- Did the limping start suddenly? Or intensified over a longer period of time?
- Is the child also suffering from a fever? If so, what is the temperature? And how long has the temperature existed?
- Is there any morning stiffness?
- Have you noticed any other symptoms? Pain in any other joints?
Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.
- Is the child’s development proceeding regularly?
Self history incl. medication history.
