Location: They are particularly common there
Pieced nodules can occur wherever there is pressure for a long time. For example, if the trigger is overweight, the nodules can also appear on the shin. However, predisposition sites are the outer and inner heel edges. These are subject to heavy strain during endurance sports, standing jobs and overweight and are therefore the place where pieced nodules are predominantly found.
This is how the diagnosis is made by a doctor
First of all the anamnesis is in the foreground. Here, we will discuss how long the nodules have existed and whether they cause complaints or not. It is also possible to find out whether the person concerned does endurance sports, for example.
In addition, the nodules are examined and also palpated and viewed in a stressed and unstressed state. To be on the safe side, an ultrasound can be carried out in the unloaded and loaded state. Here it can be observed how the fatty tissue bulges into the skin due to the pressure and disappears again.
