The following symptoms and complaints may indicate Meniere’s disease:
Leading symptoms (Meniere’s triad).
- Acute onset of spinning/vomiting vertigo with nausea/vomiting [two or more episodes of vertigo lasting 20 minutes or longer].
- Unilateral ringing in the ears (tinnitus) [tinnitus or ear pressure in the affected ear].
- Sensorineural hearing loss [proven hearing loss in at least one hearing test].

Associated symptoms
- Diplakusis – the sounds are perceived higher or lower in the affected ear.
- Pressure/fullness sensation in the affected ear
- Nystagmus – involuntary rhythmic eye movements (eye tremor).
- Strong accompanying vegetative symptoms are:
- Nausea (nausea)
- Emesis (vomiting)
- Urinary and fecal urgency
- Sweating
- Tachycardia (heartbeat too fast: > 100 beats per minute).
- Anxiety
The dizziness usually lasts minutes to hours and repeats at irregular intervals.
