Meridol Mouthwash against gingivitis
Inflammation of the gums usually manifests itself by redness, sensitivity to touch and pressure. Furthermore, swelling and light bleeding can occur when brushing the teeth. Healthy gums are firmly attached to the tooth.
It is robust and does not bleed when brushing the teeth. Inflammation of the gums is reversible. If you notice the typical symptoms on yourself, you can treat this inflammation.
If it is not treated, the inflammation can spread from the gums to the periodontium and lead to tooth loss. There are therefore prescription medical mouthwashes in cases of already advanced gum inflammation. In most cases, these contain the active ingredient chlorhexidine and are used for a limited period of time.
Meridol Mouthwash after wisdom tooth surgery
A wisdom tooth surgery is usually accompanied by a wound that must heal in the days following the surgery. Therefore, good oral hygiene is very important, especially during this healing process, to prevent inflammation. Although meridol has no alcohol content, which usually causes pain in open wounds, it should be used with caution and discussed with the dentist if necessary.
In the first two days after the operation it is generally recommended not to brush the teeth or to brush them only to a small extent. Often a rinsing with meridol is recommended here, as it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects and is not very aggressive due to the lack of alcohol. Care should be taken not to irrigate too much, otherwise the wound will open again and bleeding will occur. Gently moving the head back and forth while irrigating is a good option here.
Effect/Active ingredient of Meridol Mouthwash
The most important ingredient of the mouth rinse solution for the oral cavity is fluoride. This is an essential mineral for our body, as it plays a decisive role in building bones and teeth. Therefore, it is very important to brush the teeth with children’s toothpaste during childhood.
It has a particularly high fluoride content and thus promotes the development of bones and teeth.Another ingredient is chlorhexidine. This has an antibacterial effect. Meridol Mouth Rinsing Solution contains no alcohol and is therefore a very mild variant. Other mouthrinses containing alcohol benefit primarily from its disinfectant effect, but the alcohol content is harmful to the gums in the long term. Meridol, which is perceived as mild, is therefore the product of choice for irritated or slightly inflamed gums.
