Chest pain, mastodynia tension, aching or a pulling are among the most common complaints that can be observed in the area of the breasts. The tissue of the mammary glands is subject to regular, hormonal changes, especially in women. In addition to the hormonal fluctuations that occur in the course of the menstrual cycle, there are also pronounced changes in the mammary gland tissue during puberty, pregnancy, breastfeeding and the menopause.
In order to control and regulate these necessary changes, the breast must be able to react quickly to certain signals from the body. This special ability of the mammary glands is particularly evident in the rapid onset of the remodelling processes after pregnancy. Pain or a strong pulling in the breast is therefore considered one of the first signs of pregnancy.
In general, it can be assumed that almost every woman suffers from pain or a pulling in the breast at least once in her life. There can be a variety of reasons for these complaints. When looking for the cause, it must therefore first be determined whether the pulling in the breast can be classified as harmless or whether the symptom has to be attributed a disease value.
If the pulling in the chest is to be felt only on the left chest side serious illnesses, like for example a cardiac infarct must be excluded. You can find more information here: Pulling in the left breast pain or an unpleasant pulling in the breast is not a purely female problem. Although women are affected by this symptom much more often, it can be assumed that every second man suffers from breast pain at least once in his life.
In order to narrow down the possible causes for the occurrence of pulling in the breast, it is important to pay attention to possible accompanying symptoms. In many cases, breast tenderness is accompanied by palpable hardening or typical premenstrual symptoms. In addition, women who suffer from severe breast tenderness should be examined to determine whether the symptoms occur regularly or only once.
Although most of the possible reasons for the occurrence of severe breast tenderness are completely harmless, such symptoms can also be caused by serious diseases. For this reason, women who frequently feel a pulling in the breast should definitely consult a specialist in gynaecology. This specialist can determine the cause of the symptoms and, if necessary, initiate appropriate treatment.
