Pear bread spice is a brown and pleasantly aromatic smelling powder. It is available, for example, in pharmacies and drugstores as open goods or packaged in bags, including from the manufacturers Hänseler, Dixa, Herboristeria and Morga (Figure). Tip: If prescribed by the recipe, also buy rose water at the same time. If you have a suitable collection of spices and a corresponding recipe, you can also mix pear bread spice yourself.
Composition
The ingredients vary depending on the product. Spices used include cinnamon, cloves, allspice, pepper, anise, star anise, coriander, fennel, galangal, nutmeg or mace, ginger and cardamom; all in powder form.
