- Echocardiography (echo; cardiac ultrasound) – for suspected endocarditis (pericarditis), myo- or pericarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle and pericardium).
- Sonography (ultrasound examination) of the oropharynx (upper part of the throat) and oral cavity.
- Lateral radiography neck
- Abdominal ultrasonography (ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs) – if renal involvement is suspected.
- X-rays of the affected joint – if rheumatic fever is suspected.
