Cobalamin (Vitamin B12): Symptoms of Deficiency

Vitamin B12 deficiency leads to the following clinical problems: Pallor, fatigue, dizziness, and heart failure triggered by megaloblastic anemia. This anemia (anemia) is caused by a disorder in the formation of erythrocytes (red blood cells).
Neurological symptoms such as insensitivity, gait unsteadiness, tendency to fall in the dark, and disturbances in depth sensitivity and paralysis. Mental health symptoms and reversible dementia may also occur.
These symptoms can occur even in the complete absence of blood count abnormalities, so diagnosis cannot rely on the findings of a normal blood count. Disruption of epithelial cell growth results in inflammation and redness of the tongue, cracking of the corners of the mouth, loss of appetite, and weight loss.
