Premature Ejaculation (Ejaculatio Praecox): Therapy

General measures

  • Aim for normal weight! Determination of BMI (body mass index, body mass index) or body composition by means of electrical impedance analysis and, if necessary, participation in a medically supervised weight loss program or program for underweight.
  • Review of permanent medication due topossible effect on the existing disease!

Operative therapy

  • Capping the penile foreskin significantly prolongs intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT; insertion of the penis into the vagina/vagina (penetration) to intravaginal (inside the vagina) ejaculation) (preoperatively: 1.1 minutes to 2.5 minutes one year after surgery), according to one study. It is stated that men were more sexually satisfied after surgery.

Conventional non-surgical therapy methods

To strengthen body image, the following methods are the main ones that help:

  • Stop-start method – in this method, the man should learn to delay the time of ejaculation; in doing so, he should stop stimulation (first during masturbation) just before the so-called “inevitability point” in order to resume it after the arousal has receded; this method should enable the man to control ejaculation
  • Squeeze method – this method represents a modification of the stop-start method; in this case, the reflex of ejaculation is interrupted by applying pressure to the area of the frenulum (foreskin frenulum)

Nutritional medicine

  • Nutritional counseling based on nutritional analysis
  • Nutritional recommendations according to a mixed diet taking into account the disease at hand. This means, among other things:
    • A total of 5 servings of fresh vegetables and fruit daily (≥ 400 g; 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit).
    • Once or twice a week fresh sea fish, i.e. fatty marine fish (omega-3 fatty acids) such as salmon, herring, mackerel.
    • High-fiber diet (whole grains, vegetables).
  • Selection of appropriate food based on the nutritional analysis
  • See also under “Therapy with micronutrients (vital substances)” – if necessary, taking a suitable dietary supplement.
