Prognosis
The prognosis of the lipoma is good, degeneration into a malignant liposarcoma is very rare, so that the lipoma does not necessarily require medical treatment. A recurrence after removal is possible. The risk of recurrence is higher after suction than after surgery, because the connective tissue capsule of the lipoma is not removed.
