Side effects

The following adverse drug reactions may occur when taking nitroglycerin:

  • Headaches
  • Tiredness
  • Swindle
  • Visual disorders
  • Flush syndrome (reddening of the skin with a feeling of heat)

  • Slight pulse acceleration
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Collapse

  • Vasodilators
  • Calcium antagonists
  • Beta blocker
  • Antihypertensive drugs
  • Diuretics
  • Tricyclic antidepressants
  • Neuroleptics
  • Dihydroergotamine
  • Nitroglycerin Retard Preparations
  • Anti-inflammatories
  • Antirheumatic drugs

Warnings

In order to avoid circulatory collapse while taking nitroglycerin, patients should lie down and put their legs up after taking it. The ability to react is reduced after taking Nitroglycerin, so extreme caution is required in road traffic and when operating machines.
