One can distinguish the following speech and language disorders:
- Dyslexia / Alexia – impaired reading ability/inability to read.
- Agnosia – recognition disorder despite intact perception; differentiable into auditory, visual, pragmatic, tactile, visual agnosia.
- Apraxia – learned actions / movements can not be performed despite preserved perceptual and motor skills.
- Agraphia – inability to write despite preserved motor skills as well as preserved intellect.
- Acalculia – inability to calculate despite preserved intellect.
