Sulphur iodate

The basic substance for Sulfur iodatum (synonyms: Sulfur iodatum, Iodum sulfuratum) is sulfur iodide, a compound of sulfur and iodine. It consists mainly, i.e. about three quarters of iodine. Like the homeopathic sulfur, which does not contain iodine, Sulfur iodatum has a stimulating effect on the metabolism.

The main areas of application for this remedy are inflammatory processes and diseases. These include inflammatory and sometimes purulent skin diseases such as severe and long-lasting acne, pustules, eczema and rashes, boils and psoriasis. Inflammations of the throat and pharynx area can also be treated with Sulfur iodatum, noteworthy in this area are tonsillitis or simple cold infections.

However, if the complaints in the throat and pharynx area persist for more than a week without improvement, a visit to a doctor should be considered, as otherwise the infection can affect the remaining airways and the lungs with long-term consequences. Other areas of application for Sulfur iodatum include other inflammatory processes in various parts of the body and organs such as inflammation of the joints (arthritis), eyes or ovaries. It is always worth mentioning that homeopathic remedies are administered on the basis of certain leading symptoms and manifestations of a person.

They are often taken over a longer period of time in order to change the person’s constitution. Among other things, Sulfur iodatum is suitable for adolescents in puberty who are struggling with acne. However, it can generally be helpful in all age groups with corresponding symptoms and diseases.

Sulfur iodatum can also help people with little appetite who do not gain weight even if they eat a lot. Low potencies of D6 to D12 are recommended for independent medication. It can be taken daily, but should be discontinued if there is no significant improvement after about a week.
