Summary | Pain on the back of my foot – What do I have?

Summary

In most cases, pain on the back of the foot is related to pathological changes in the tarsal joints. In addition to traumatic events, acute inflammation of the bursae after overloading or chronic wear and tear of the joints in the form of arthrosis can cause complaints. The pain is often load-dependent and is often perceived as stabbing and/or burning.

If there is a chronic malpositioning of the foot or if a nerve is affected, the pain can also be of dull quality. Depending on the cause, conservative and surgical measures are applied.
