Teflubenzuron

Teflubenzuron is commercially available in many countries as a powder in combination with diflubenzuron (Koi Med Louse-Ex). It has been approved in many countries since 2008.

Structure and properties

Teflubenzuron (C₁₄H₆Cl₂F₄N₂O₂, M_r = 381.1 g/mol) is a benzoylphenylurea derivative. It is structurally closely related to lufenuron (Program).

Effects

Teflubenzuron (ATCvet QP53AX30) inhibits parasite development by interfering with chitin synthesis.

Indications

For the treatment of ornamental fish, especially koi, against parasitic crustaceans.
