The duration
The duration of nerve inflammation in the arm is highly dependent on the underlying cause and the extent of the inflammation. In the case of an infection, the nerve inflammation can disappear completely after adequate therapy and therefore not last longer than a few days or weeks. If the cause is an autoimmune disease, it can in turn be a chronically progressive disease that lasts a lifetime. Therefore, it is extremely important to consult a physician if the pain persists.
The prognosis
The prognosis of nerve inflammation in the arm depends on the cause and severity of the disease. Sometimes it is a long-lasting inflammation that is diagnosed late. In this case, it is particularly important to start therapy as soon as possible. Often, however, the inflammation can be treated well with painkillers and a relatively painless life can be led.
