The duration
The duration of pain in the ball of the thumb depends on the underlying disease. If the tendons, ligaments or bones are injured, a duration of several weeks up to months can be expected. The symptoms of gout, especially if alcohol and meat consumption are not restricted, can occur repeatedly and in the course of time lead to the destruction of the joint with permanent pain. Arthrosis also usually causes permanent problems and the pain can usually only be limited in intensity.
