The duration | The pain under the fingernail

The duration

In the case of acute nail bed inflammation, targeted treatment typically results in complete healing of the disease. The inflammation usually lasts for days to one or two weeks. In the case of chronic persistent nail bed inflammation, a search should be made for a possible other cause of the inflammation.

A torn fingernail usually heals without complications. The tear grows out and depending on the depth of the tear within one or more weeks. Psoriasis in the fingernails is more persistent.

With a targeted therapy, the fingernails can often be improved in the case of nail psoriasis. Unfortunately, psoriasis always comes back, so nail psoriasis almost never disappears completely.
