Tips for Abdominal Discomfort: No. 8 to 12

If you have abdominal discomfort, special gymnastic exercises can also help relieve the pain: sit on your heels and stretch both arms above your head. In doing so, the palms of your hands should touch. Then tighten your buttocks and pull your upper body upwards with your arms. However, remain seated on your heels while doing this. Maintain the tension for about one minute.

Tip 9: Switch off

It is not uncommon for abdominal discomfort to be caused by a stressful or hectic daily routine. If you suffer from abdominal discomfort, you should therefore try to avoid stress and consciously switch off once: Take a break, rest and do only the things you really feel like doing.

Also make sure to eat regularly, calmly and slowly. Because gulping down meals hastily can also lead to stomach discomfort.

Tip 10: Abdominal massage

For acute abdominal discomfort, a gentle massage of the abdomen can help relieve the discomfort. Particularly suitable for the massage is thyme, St. John’s seed or lavender oil.

During the abdominal massage, circular movements are made around the navel with the flat of the hand. It is important to always perform the movements in a clockwise direction.

Note: you should not perform the massage if you find it uncomfortable.

Tip 11: The curled leaf (exercise).

This exercise can also help alleviate your abdominal discomfort. The starting point is again the heel seat: bend your upper body forward and rest your forehead on the floor. Now stretch your arms forward and stay in this position until you are completely relaxed.

Tip 12: Chamomile compress

A chamomile compress is a good alternative to a stomach wrap. For this, put three tablespoons of chamomile flowers in a bowl and pour a liter of boiling water over it. Allow to steep for ten minutes and then pour off the water. Dip a cotton cloth in the warm chamomile water, wring it out and place it on the aching abdomen at an appropriate temperature.
