Procedure in the pharmacy
Refer to the package insert for each drug. 1. If the suspension is needed immediately, it is prepared by the pharmacist. If this is not desired, it can also be prepared by the parents. General instructions (example!):
- Shake the bottle with the powder to loosen the powder.
- Carefully fill with tap water in 2 portions up to the line on the label. Or add specified amount of tap water.
- Shake bottle vigorously and let stand for a short time.
- If necessary, add tap water again to the dash.
2. labels: Store in refrigerator, Indicate expiration, Shake before use. 3. check dosage and calculate to the volume. Is the amount enough for the intended duration of therapy? 4. if the dosage cannot be measured reliably with the enclosed measuring spoon, a syringe or a suitable measuring instrument should be provided. 5. dispensing and informing parents:
- Effects and possible adverse effects.
- Shake well before each use
- Note the short expiration. Shelf life is between 5-14 days depending on the preparation.
- Store in the refrigerator.
- Control medication intake (PDF form download).
Important notice:
- If several bottles are needed for treatment, usually not all should be prepared immediately (Short expiration!).

- Amoxicillin + clavulanic acid (Co-Amoxi-Mepha, Augmentin).
