Alternatives to Granufink

In addition to Granufink®, various alternative herbal preparations are available for the treatment of conditions such as frequent and nocturnal urination. These include all products containing extracts of pumpkin seeds, stinging nettle root or saw palmetto fruit. There are also various conventional medicines available as non-herbal alternatives, which have been proven to alleviate symptoms and in some cases to counteract the increasing enlargement of the prostate.

In the case of very pronounced complaints, which may have already led to complications such as urinary retention or cystitis, the only alternative is often urological surgery. In this case, either the prostate can be removed through the urethra (transurethral resection of the prostate = TUR-P) or the entire prostate can be surgically removed. In contrast to Granufink prosta®, Granufink prosta forte® contains a higher active ingredient content of pumpkin seed extract per capsule. Granufink prosta forte® also lacks saw palmetto fruit extract as a further active ingredient.

In addition, it should only be taken two instead of three times a day. There are no other differences between the two products from the manufacturer and the information given here regarding effect and area of application is equally valid for both preparations. There is no proof that Granufink prosta forte® can achieve a better effect than the original product.

Granufink femina® is a drug that is offered specifically for the treatment of bladder weakness in women. In contrast to men, women do not have a prostate, which should be positively influenced by Granufink prosta®. The causes of bladder weakness in women are manifold.

For example, weakened pelvic floor muscles can occur after pregnancy and birth. The most common symptoms of female bladder weakness are unintentional urination (incontinence) and an increased urge to urinate. The plant-based active ingredients in Granufink femina® are intended to help alleviate these symptoms. Pelvic floor exercises and bladder training can often also improve bladder function. However, if there are any signs of a potentially serious illness such as urinary retention or bloody urine, a doctor should be consulted at the latest.
