Allergy | These are the causes of elevated heart rate

Allergy

Allergies represent a large group of diseases and affect a great many people. They are intolerances of certain substances that enter the body through the air, food or other routes. There are different types of allergic reactions, which are associated with different mechanisms of development.

A common form of allergy is the “instant type” allergy. Here the body has already produced antibodies against a certain substance, for example a food, in a previous contact. When this substance is ingested, messenger substances are released within a few seconds to minutes, which can lead to a strong histamine release and so-called “anaphylactic reaction”. The anaphylactic reaction is similar to severe blood loss due to a malfunction of the body and is accompanied by shock. As a result, blood pressure can drop sharply, causing the pulse rate to rise enormously.

Causes of high pulse during the night

A high heart rate can also occur at night, which is particularly unpleasant for those affected, as they may wake up from it and have trouble sleeping. The high pulse rate at night can be caused by a variety of factors. Cardiac arrhythmia and cardiovascular diseases can trigger symptoms both during the day and at night.

Hormonal disorders can also become noticeable at night. Activity and stress-related complaints can be reduced at night. However, stress phases with insomnia and panic attacks can also occur at night. The high nocturnal pulse rate leads to a greater urge to treat and a more difficult assessment of their illness even if the cause is not threatening.
