Differential diagnoses

Before the diagnosis “liposarcoma” is finally made, other diagnoses must also be considered or excluded. Differential diagnoses include cellular angiofibromas, fibrous tumors, malignant schwannomas, rhabdomyosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, and fibrous histiocytoma. Since liposarcoma itself is so rare, it is also possible that the tissue alteration is a metastasis of another tumor.
