Further therapeutic measures

Further measures in physiotherapy to counteract back pain are tape equipment, electrotherapy, manual manipulation, relaxing massages (Dorn-und Breuss-Massage) and heat applications. Passive therapy methods, however, usually only have an acute effect and are only a supplement to active long-term therapy.

Summary

There is a magic word for the popular back pain: movement. Balance out long static positions or the same movements over and over again. Stretch, strengthen and relieve your trunk muscles by incorporating simple exercises into your everyday life.

In the best case you look for a sporty hobby after a long day in the office, not only the body but also the psyche is happy. Back pain is one of the most common complaints in our society – the “sitting society”. However, no body is made for static postures and eternal sitting.

One-sided and unphysiological strain is usually the reason for the unpleasant pain. Intervertebral discs are loaded unilaterally, passive structures are overloaded, muscles tense and deteriorate due to lack of movement. Sudden movements can even lead to lumbago.

Our back is made up of a stable mast – the spine – intervertebral discs and vertebral bodies alternately to provide stability but also movement. This mast is held by various ligaments. This describes the passive part.

The active part is our muscles. In several layers they surround the spine, connect bones, provide stability (holding muscles) and at the same time enable movement. However, what is not used, our body breaks down or adapts to given circumstances.

This results in postural weaknesses, herniated discs, stiffness, restricted movement and, first and foremost, back pain. This is a widespread popular disease – but with a way out, the keyword is to become active. In this article simple effective exercises are presented, for the different sections of the spine.
