The following symptoms and complaints may indicate a ganglion (overbone):
- Prallel elastic smooth expulsion of a joint capsule or tendon sheath:
- Not displaceable
- Well delimitable
- May cause pain or limit mobility
Appears more pronounced in certain joint positions (e.g., flexion/flexion of the wrist).
The following body parts are commonly affected:
- Back of the hand
- Wrist
- Popliteal fossa
- Meniscus, lateral (lateral)
- Ankle joint
- Arch of the foot
Rarely, a ganglion occurs intraosseously (located in bone). In such cases, it often occurs in the femoral head (head of the femur), malleolus (ankle), or carpal bones.
