Chalazion develops as a result of secretion congestion of the meibomian gland (eyelid gland, also tarsal glands, Latin: glandulae tarsales; are sebaceous glands at the edge of the eyelids).

Disease-related causes.
Eyes and eye appendages (H00-H59).
