Homeopathic medicines

Introduction

The homeopathic medicines are basically subject to pharmacy. Prescription is required for homeopathic drugs up to D3. Homeopathic medicines are offered as:.

The most common potencies are D3, D6 and D12. High potencies such as Q and LM potencies and injection solutions are reserved for experienced practitioners and are not suitable for self-treatment.

  • Drop
  • Triturations
  • Tablets
  • Spreading beads (globules) and
  • Also as injection solutions

The recommended dosage always depends on the patient’s condition.

For acute illnesses (for example, suddenly occurring feverish cold), the potency is chosen low and the dose (for example, 5 drops, 1 tablet, 5 globules) is repeated at short intervals. In highly acute conditions every 5 minutes, in acute conditions every 30 to 60 minutes. If the stage is less acute administration every two hours.

If the symptoms improve, the intervals are gradually extended and the drug is finally discontinued. For chronic diseases, higher potency remedies are usually chosen. The dosage is 2 to 3 times daily and less frequently.

The reaction to the intake must be observed. As soon as there is a clear improvement, the drug must be discontinued, otherwise the good effect will be impaired. The intake will be repeated only if the improvement does not progress or the symptoms reappear.

If the symptoms worsen (“initial worsening”) the medicine must be discontinued. The remedy was chosen correctly, but was administered in the wrong potency. It is advisable to take a break in therapy and then give the same remedy in a different potency.

If there is no improvement or worsening after hours, the remedy will be discontinued, it was wrongly chosen. The homeopathic physician will prescribe a therapy break after several weeks of medication as part of a long-term therapy (for chronic diseases). Subsequently, the remedy is given or changed in altered potency.
