- Sodium chloratum (sodium muriaticum common salt)
Arsenicum album (White Arsenic)
Prescription only up to and including D3! Arsenicum album (white arsenic) is used for cold sores, especially in drops of D6.
- Always recurring with pronounced, severe burning pain
- Herpes often as a side effect of serious basic diseases, recognizable by great exhaustion after little effort
- The blisters dry quickly, the skin becomes rough and peels off in small lamellae (like flour)
- Pain worsens at night and through cold
Dulcamara (Bittersweet)

- Lip herpes as a result of wetness and cold or in women before menstruation
- Aggravation by cold
- Improvement through heat.
Rhus toxicodendron (poison ivy)
General dosage of Rhus toxicodendron (poison sumac): drops D12
- Lip herpes is repeatedly triggered by feverish infections
- Also by gastrointestinal infections with diarrhea
Sepia (cuttlefish)
In case of cold sores, sepia (squid) can be used in the following dosage: Globules C30
- Lip herpes occurs after the consumption of fish
- Preferred remedy for menopausal women, irritable, moody, hot flashes
Sodium chloratum (sodium muriaticum common salt)
In case of cold sores, the following dosage of sodium chloratum (sodium muriaticum table salt) can be used: Tablets D12
- Lip herpes occurs when staying by the sea, after eating seafood or after sun exposure
