Homeopathy

One can also try to control the pain of an injured meniscus with homeopathy. A number of homeopathic remedies have been used for a long time to relieve pain and prevent inflammatory processes. It must be clearly pointed out that homeopathy alone cannot heal a tear or similar damage to the meniscus, but homeopathic or herbal remedies can be used supportively alongside conventional medical treatment to alleviate symptoms.

In the acute phase, the relief of pain with homeopathy will probably be too weak. After an operation or in the context of a conservative therapy these remedies make more sense. The treatment of meniscus pain, on the other hand, always includes an orthopedic surgeon who can objectively assess the damage and initiate appropriate therapy.

The use of homeopathy should also be accompanied by a specialist trained in this field. In homeopathy, substances such as Aconitum napellus are used to treat pain, while Acidum nitricum, for example, is said to help against inflammation. There are also preparations such as Apisinum against swelling, which can cause pain. In the best case, homeopathic remedies are combined with conventional medicine; self-medication should be avoided because of possible interactions between the remedies.
